It’s an anime with a level of suspense and intrigue that we don’t even see in Sherlock Holmes. The plot revolves around a note book in which if you put down a person’s name, he dies.
And, gentlemen, did you know that death notes are forbidden in many nations because they spread the rumour among youngsters that if they put their instructors’ names on the note, they would be set free? But, as we all know, that does not come easily. That is also one of the reasons why Death Note is so popular, along with the tale behind it.
The reason it isn’t higher on this list is that it is one of those anime that isn’t intended for children, thus it isn’t broadcast on television, and we won’t watch it until we understand the difference between anime and cartoons. We watched naruto as a cartoon, we watched dbz as a cartoon, but we can never watch Death Note as a cartoon because it is against nature’s rule.

The cruellest and most terrible character ever imagined, who simply fantasises about destroying the planet for no apparent reason. Bleach fans can be found at every anime convention in the world, so I had to include it in this list of the top 10 most popular anime worldwide. Guys, if you haven’t read bleach, I implore you to do so simply to meet my favourite villain, Aizen.

Conan the detective Now we have a storey based on Sherlock Holmes, and if you enjoy Arthur Conan Doyle’s work, you will appreciate Detective Conan. You can probably assume from the name that it’s a detective anime with over 1000 episodes centred on our Conan, who looks like a kindergartener, solving murder mysteries.
Conan is an 18-year-old teenager whose body was altered as a result of a drug administered by a criminal organisation. This long-running anime contains romance, adventure, and mystery, all of which everyone will enjoy.
#12. Kimetsu No Yaiba
In 2020, Kimetsu no yaiba, or Demon Slayer as it is known to Western audiences, became one of the most popular and viewed anime. And it evolved from a shonen manga to an anime, with a film adaptation that shocked the box office. This animation is set during Japan’s taisho period, when ghosts and yokai wander the countryside, killing humans for nourishment.
Our protagonist was also a victim of those ghosts, losing his entire family, including his mother and siblings, with the exception of her younger sister, who had turned into a yokai herself. So, in order to save his sister, he became a demon slayer and resolved to murder all demon progenitors in order to rid the world of demons.
This is a relatively simple shonen anime, but what made it so unique was the animation, which had CGI realistic sequences that did credit to the tale. This year, a sequel film, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, was released, which follows the anime’s storey. The tale isn’t over yet, yet it’s already become one of the most popular anime series in the world.
